Tiger claws were worn as charms against malevolent spirits and to instill courage in the wearer in many parts of India. Since then, tiger claws were also used for jewellery produced and mainly used as pendants in chain by men. These tiger claw pendants are now available in various designs and contemporary women wear them too. Though many pendants are meant to be basically made from tiger nails, sometimes the horns of cattle, bison and hornbills are also also used to make fake nails that represent tiger nails.
