Rana Daggubati and Miheeka Bajaj, once again, took social media by storm by sharing photos from their Roka ceremony. Without disclosing details about the ceremony, the Kaadan actor wrote, “It’s official (sic).”
Many people concluded that Rana and Miheeka are officially engaged. However, the actor took to Instagram to reveal that the couple had their Roka ceremony and not their engagement.
A Roka ceremony is a traditional function where the families of the bride and groom meet each other and discuss the engagement, wedding and reception. In short, the Roka marks the beginning of the wedding festivities which are to follow.
The ceremony took place at Rana’s grandfather D Ramanaidu’s memorial at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad. Speaking to Hyderabad Times, D Suresh Babu, Rana’s father, said, “It was not a formal engagement ceremony. It was just an intimate gathering with just immediate family present. Roka is a tradition from the girl’s side to make the alliance official. It was a beautiful ceremony and both families are extremely happy.”
Rana Daggubati and Miheeka Bajaj exchanged rings in a traditional ‘roka’ ceremony. The couple shared dreamy photos from the event after which wishes started pouring from relatives, friends, celebrities and fans on the social media.
Miheeka’s get up and Jewelry
Our bride-to-be, Miheeka Bajaj wore a radiant silk woven saree by Jayanti Reddy, along with a heavily embroidered blouse and dupatta in shades of pink and peach with a tinge of yellow. She styled her outfit with minimal makeup along with a statement neckpiece and jhumkas designed by her mother, who owns the Krsala Jewellery in Hyderabad. She wore a pair of traditional antique bangles on the left hand that looked so pleasant on her.
In an earlier interview, Rana’s father Suresh Babu revealed that the wedding might take place in December or even before that. An official announcement regarding the engagement and wedding will be out in the coming weeks. The couple looked so gorgeous on this ceremony.
